symptoms of epilepsy

i am new to this all but i am currently seein a neurologist atm first of all he said it was anxiety attacks and then sent me home then he called me a week later n asked me back and started me on tablets for epilepsy i am still waiting to have a MRI scan and an EEG. the only thing is my symptoms are different i am conscious when i have a fit but i cannot control my body my arms usually start to go up and my legs go funny then my head turns to the side and my speech goes funny to i cannot communicate with no one while it is happenin people who have seen it happen have said its like im in another world when it happens i just wanna know what you think do you reckon these are symptoms of epilepsy?

hey cathy_c i have three types, one of which is complex partial... which is the same symptoms as angeleyez! i also have gran mal and petit mal! gran mal and complex partial are controlled but petit mal isn't...! just curious in your seizures do you sometimes play with your fingers together near your tummy? with my petit mal i walk around looking up in the air also doing trange things! once i was swimming in an absence?!!!! and other times i sometimes open doors even though i black out! i go up for tests on the 15th at great ormand street hospital! however i think this is my last year because im 17! and its a childrens hospital! for them to do some research! do you take medication? take care matt

Noted that you were wondering about doctors who specialize in epilepsy? Go to home page of epilepsy.com and click on the "Find a Doctor" feature. This will take you to the American Epilepsy Society where you can look at specialists who are members of the organization and find those close to you. Or visit the link to National Association of Epilepsy Centers to find comprehensive centers nearby. hope this helps!

hey cathy_c thanks for ur reply its jus really annoyin n scary as i dnt no wot is wrong n u no how it is goin bk n fourth 2 d doctors hearin 1 thing i av ad 2 drop out of college n as i said in another thread im from d uk (london) n atm no 1s tellin me n e thing im on those pills beginnin wid c cant memba lol n cant b bothered 2 go downstairs lol i hope every thing goes well 4 u take care n god bless
