hi - i am new to this site(obviously), and i am hoping to maybe talk to others that have gone thru things similar if not the same that i have. i was in a car accident almost a year ago- currently being eval. for a possible head injury-due to symptoms i am expierencing(memory loss, trouble with word finding,co-ordination-you name it.)anyway-since the accident, i have had what i call episodes- as i have read on the other posts on the board you call them auras. these "episodes"-vision disturbances, deja vu,out of body expierences,etc.etc.-come out of nowhere- they have continued at random to get worse. for some reason- my doctors do not want to listen when i tell them -brushing it off as panic or depression- the feelings of fear/doom are horrible! i know when i have felt panic -it never felt like this! last bad episode-was monday, standing in a doorway next thing i know i felt like i needed to shut my eyes-i got the deja vu feeling/familiar yet unfamiliar? everything went black, thanit seemed like i was going thru a dark tunnel with flashing lites at a million miles an hour-the tunnel was getting smaller and smaller, felt like being watched and watching myself from? frozen i could not move or scream, but i could hear buzzing and sounds flying around me,eyes were fluttering(i think) and i could hear my breathing (weird),than i got this feeling of sinking(like going up a big hill on a rollercoaster-than everything seemed to start to slow downi could see again and i turned around and walked into the kitchen real tired,it felt like i had all the life drained from me walked back and forth for i don't know why or how long- the rest of the day was a big blur,i do not remember most of it except that the back of my head and neck felt like i had been clubbed- that was the worst pain, nothing would make it leave,it took almost 2 days for that pain to stop. now- i am not looking for a diagnoses - i am just hoping maybe this sounds familiar to someone- i am scared to death -i have no one to talk to about this that does not look at me like i am spaced out on some crazy drug trip- i have read the epilepsy/seizure symptom pages and that info is helpful- possibility of seizure(s) after a closed head injury? (oh-by the way, the two days before monday, i felt nauseas and ill/sick)-if that helps.

hi solis and sasquash- thank you to both of you for the replies- in the short time i have been in this community , i am so thankful for the help you have all given. you are all bright lites in a crazy dark time! :) i do have an appt. with my pcp tomorrow to talk about all this. i will be requesting a new neurologist as well. and i have read the above links sol, thanks(i actually read them over and over-due to the "possible head injury" i can't seem to retain much lately, those links are actually what led me to joining and posting here.) i have noticed a few other things i would like to share,(get comfortable-just kidding!lol) since my "episodes" seem to be in line with simple/complex partial seizures, have any of you heard of, what i can only describe as "aftershocks" after a seizure? monday after my episode- i had the nastiest head/neck ache (not a migraine, i have only had one of those about 12 yrs ago-it wasn't like that)- and i had these almost like flashback or flashes of what i can remember of during my episode- almost like sporadic mini auras? these flashes gradually lessened more everyday since monday, today not many at all.i do not know how to describe them in words- sorry! also headache anyone??? what is up with the dull pressure-like some times stabbing pain(forgive me-at times it feels like i'm having a rod stuck thru my skull-location varies, lucky me!) headache that will not go away so help me???this has been since monday-enuff already.nothing seems to help- i am only taking ibuprofen by the way. i can go on with semi-normal activities and they don't make it worse or better . this is sooooooooooo not fun, i don't like this game anymore! :(

Hi again.. If you reread

Hi again.. If you reread http://www.epilepsy.com/101/ep101_symptom.html.. & look at the bottom of the page under: 'After-seizure symptoms (post-ictal)', & then under 'physical'.... you will see that one of the post-ictal symptoms listed is 'headache'. I'm fortunate that headaches never were part of my E. ~sol

Hello tangledvines...wow! I also was in a minor car accident 2yrs ago and had a slight concussion. The paramedics said I was having seizures. One neuro did put me on Tegretol which seemed to help with the type I was having at that time.He sent me to an epileptologist(epi)and she did a 6day in hospital,VEEG.she took me off Tegretol cause my test was normal brain activity.Since then I have seen 3 other neuros had another VEEG done,MRI,EEG,CT scan and all come back normal. They tell me to see psych...did and they say...ya don't need to see us!Ummmmm ok,so now what do I do.Seizures(as the epi)called them, have gotten worse.Cannot drive, swim alone, climb ladders etc. They are thinking NES = non epileptic seizures, but not fully diagnosed yet.I do feel them come on (aura)I stiffen and upper body tremors..everyday.Then about every 4 days the stiffening goes right into a flopping around on floor like a fish out of water, these I do get a headache from and very sleepy and weak.Do not get discouraged.I so bad want REAL answers. This site has a wonderful group of people on it and are very helpful. When I need a shoulder to cry on these people are always here for me.My family is very supportive which helps alot.My doctors have made me feel like I am crazy(hmmmm, yep I am cause they are making me that way)haha! Good luck and come into the chatroom and talk about anything you wish it is very helpful.God bless you
