Seizure Triggers

Thu, 07/22/2010 - 10:00
Hello all ~ my brother suffered a closed head injury when he was 12 after being hit by a car. He is now 36. He has been having seizures since his accident. I am looking for some feedback on triggers. I know that if he gets over~heated he will seize, if he has an infection/fever he will seize. I am wondering if anyone has experienced increased seizure activity with changes in barometric pressure?

Hello Phylis,   Thank you very much for the information.  An unusually severe storm hit RI unexpectedly.  I have temporal lobe epilepsy that is usually well controlled with medication. At the beginning of the storm, I recall getting the aura that comes before a seizure.  Later, I awakened with no idea what had happened.  You confirmed my suspicion that a change in barometric pressure may have been the cause.  Thanks.   Vicki
