Same here, I've had anxiety issues forever. I still do but they are no where near as bad as they were now that I've been on the VNS. I'm more apt to go places on the weekends with my husband whereas before he had to literally talk me into it and pull me from doing schoolwork on my laptop, now he doesn't have to.
I will keep you in my thoughts Peaches!

You apparently familar w/ other seizure medications. It can make you a little drowsy. You will get used to it and it goes away after a week or two. When I first started it my Neurologist, started me off as a night medication and then worked me on dosages according to the time I needed it. I take it 3 times a day. Most patients take it twice a day. My seizures are worst when I wake up and mid afternoon around 3 and mid evening times. It seems to do the trick for me. Every patient is different! I have taken both the generic and the brand of the Zonegran. In fact, I have found after being on it for a year I have lost 15 pounds and have more energy and less seizures. I also take other medications to control my seizures. This medication has been a big help. I hope it helps you!

So the VNS helped your mood as well as your seizures? I am on Lexapro right now because of the depression Keppra caused me when I was on it. I just chose not to go off of it when I switched from Keppra to Lamictal. I have had anxiety problems as long as I can remember and the Lexapro works wonders for it. For once in my life I'm not scared in social situations and I don't get upset easily over things. My neuro said the VNS was also for depression, but mainly for seizures. My seizures are controlled well with meds, but I don't like taking meds because of side effects which is why my neuro suggested the VNS. I haven't decided yet if I want to go that route or not. My neuro said if I get the VNS it might be possible for me to not have to take meds or only have to take a low dose once a day.
