New to board
Mon, 05/30/2005 - 14:27Hi. I am new to this board. Over the 40 yrs of my life, I have been on Phenobarbital and mysolin when I was a child, Dilantin and mysolin when I was a teenager.
I was then put on Tegretol...which seemed to work in my early twenties. Then the dosage got to be 1.5 400mg tablets, twice a day.
I have now been using novoclobazam with that also (10mg tablets, 2 at night, one in the day).
My partial seizures have almost stopped, but I am really doped up. I drink a lot of coffee to try to counter the effects. Do I have any other alternatives?
I always had partial seizures, or auras as they would call them. They ran all types of test during my childhood..types of food, sleep deprivation...but nothing consistently triggered them.
I have a job, and am married. Does anyone know if 600mg doses of tegretol is too high.

Hi Kellie, as soon as I saw your reply, I did the quick check to see who was logged in and your name was there. I tried to do the chat thing on here but you must have the pop-up blocker on. p.s. I'm on 150mgs Lamictal & 750mgs of keppra, both twice a day. Just added this because of what I read on another thread you said about your daughter previously being on depakote, weaning her off it due to the side effects. Also that she'll be on the same meds as me.

Hi Michael,
I think you should call your Dr if youre not feeling right. You just tell him how you feel and he would have your levels checked. My child was overdosing on depakote and i called her dr and the next day we had labs done and YES she had toxic amounts in her system...Nothing to play around with thats for sure...best of luck

Ive seen alot of your posts on here but have never talked to you. I have never heard of the abdominal type epilepsy. WOW I learned something new today. What type of meds are you on? My daughter loves sodas and I let her have them because shes kinda in a fog anyway. Maybe I should try the caffine free...i was just trying to keep her awake so maybe she could get some school work done or have a conversation lol. Anyway, just wanted to say HI.
