Sun, 04/30/2006 - 08:48
Hi I am in the process of withdrawing keppra and nothing to introduce. I am just curious if there is anyone on this site who has already done been through it and what sort of side effects did they have during the process? All advice welcomed and thanks in advance. Teri

Without my meds

My son was 4 and went on

My son was 4 and went on Keppra. Six years later he is now off, has outgrown his seizure disorder. Two things, yes Keppra gives people surges of rage especially when increasing dose. It can cause depression and brain fog, loss of appetite  to just name a few side effects. But one thing I highly recommend is always taking vitamin B6 while on Keppra. I am not sure why doctors don't always prescribed B6 along with Keppra. Keppra takes out B6 from the body and can be a huge part of depression. As well as all Bible vitamins. Talk to your doctor about it if you have kept your kiddo on Keppra. Good luck, it is such a hard medicine, but always kept my kido from having seizures. Now that he is off, he's eating so much more, is a happier kid and has more energy. I wish there was a med out there that wasn't so full of side effects for seizures.

https://www.thealternativedaily.com/high-fat-foods-to-help-treat-epilepsy/maybe this diet can help, i need to try this.  my friend is going gluten free on a GAPS diet, to help with his depression, anger, anxiety.  i think diet can help or harm you a lot mentally.
