Keppra or CBD?

Mon, 09/11/2017 - 20:15
Hello! Advice needed ASAP! I'll give you a quick run down I am 24 years old and recently diagnosed with generalized epilepsy. Being diagnosed is literallu my biggest fear coming true ive always been afraid of having seziures and all these years ive had minor moments of blackkng out but never thought tbey were seziures until this year theyve gotten worse and my EEG showed seziure activity on both sides of my brain. My neuro prescribed me 500mg keppra (generic form) twice a day to start but I am so scared to start it due to everything I've read and heard about it and it's side effects. I've done research on CBD and wanted to give it a try but I don't know how effective it will be. I just want to do something that I know will work, also I had recently been trying to conceive and am worried what my new diagnoses means for TTC. Any advice on ether keppra or CBD would be great. Thanks in advance.

10/9/2019 Update: I am now

10/9/2019 Update: I am now taking 125 mg of Keppra, 6 drops of CBD, 10mg of B6, and 250 micrograms of B12.  Keppra & CBD together prevent seizures 100%.  I am no longer afraid to fall asleep in a public location :^)  Unfortunately this amount of Keppra does have a side effect of creating vivid, scary nightmares.  Taking B6 reduces them to vivid dreams.  B12 further reduces the vividness, but I have yet to find the right solution to remove vivid dreams completely and restore the overall quality of sleep.

My 9 yrs old daughter was diagnosed w generalized seizures, she was prescribed keppra started at a low dose, she keep having seizures and the dose has been moved up 2x and now she has been very restless, filled w anxiety and has also taken to pulling her hair out which concerns me greatly.  Doctors now want to add Ethosuximide (zarontin) and i dont feel comfortable about adding more meds therefore i will be starying the CBD oil journey and hopefully this helps her enough to also take her off keppra eventually.  Are there any serious side effects about using cbd i have to be aware of? I cant find much information.
