Did you get worse after starting seizure medicine?

Tue, 08/08/2006 - 19:11
My 8 y.o. daughter was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. She started on medicine 1 1/2 weeks ago. However, her frequency of seizures has greatly increased. Has anyone else experienced this? Lori Mom of 8 y.o.

Sol, Thanks for the advice. I looked up an epileptologist, and the neurologist that my daughter is currently seeing is in the same practice as an epileptologist. In fact he is the medical director of the Children's Epilepsy Center in Atlanta. I will discuss this on our return visit, and see about possibly switching her to the other doctor. It appears all of the pediatric doctors that deal with this in the Atlanta area are pretty much a part of the same practice. Thanks, Lori
