Can Anyone Help me

Wed, 09/27/2006 - 23:16
Keppra is making my life miserable. I have every side effect possible. Finally my neurologist is cutting me down, he told me there would be no side effects. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I am on 2,000 a day going to 1,500.

It may seem like a lot but it's worth it. I take Felbatol, Lamictal, Zonegran, and Tranxene. I also have the vns implant. If you are only on Keppra right now, I'd look at your options because 4 meds compared to 1 is a bit drastic. However I'd talk to your neuro if you really want to stop taking Keppra.

Hi Dixie, First of all, I have to ask, is Dixie Lee your real name? If so, OH MY GOODNESS!!!! That's my mother's name too. I've never met anyone with her same name. :) That being said. I was on Keppra for almost a year. I can't, at this moment, remember the dose. All I remember is that I was very irritable on it. Snap very easily at my children and husband. I went off of it and on to Dilantin . I am now doing so much better as far as meds go. :) Just had a left temporal lobe surgery last month. So, I'm still kindof recuping. One thing I've learned is that meds effect everyone differently. I hope that your doctor didn't tell you you wouldn't have side effects based on his experience with another patient. If so, not good! Good luck with everything. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "Plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Hi LadyBug, Yes, Dixie Lee is my real name. My dad named me that even though I'm from the north. Thanks so much for replying. Don't really know what my neuro is thinking at this moment. Hopefully he finds something that I can tolerate. Love the biblical quote. I'll take this one to heart. Take care and get well soon.
