Smoking marijuana and drinking

Thu, 02/07/2008 - 01:51
I was just reading on this website all of the forums about drinking and smoking cigarettes and how bad they are for you. It didnt say anything about weed and I smoke weed maybe once a week or once every two weeks and is it bad for having seizures? Also if you drink maybe two beers to three beers once a weekend is that bad?

after reading your post i'm worried that your religious views cloud your judgement (god bless? which mythological deities' blessing its' a long, long list?)pot DOESN'T need to be smoked it can be eaten! are you commenting in ignorance of this fact or just choosing to ignore it? these "large numbers" (very murky facts' on the numbers - don't you even have a percentage?) of neurologists who don't agree with marijuana use. is it using it for epilepsy they don't agree with ? or have you conveniently left out another fact? where did you get this "fact"? if pot is illegal in the u.s. how could they know of it's effects on epileptics? i think the perfusion of the religious right in america has smothered any investigation into it's medicinal use!

& i have to know because we are talking our OWN experiences - not what we heard in church DO YOU OR HAVE YOU EVER SUFFERED FROM EPILEPSY?

If so you should learn all you can & not poo-poo other peoples experiences or thoughts. how could you suffer this horror & not be open to all possibilities? p.s. the earth orbits the sun, not the other way around so please DON'T EVER BLESS WITH YOUR ARCHAIC, DISPROVEN, BACKWARD LOOKING, SCIENCE INHIBATING MYTHS' the world has suffered enough from it!!!!!!!!!!

This topic remains a hot one and lots of different opinions. While some people report an improvement in seizures after marijuana, others have a worsening. Research, what little there is, has shown mixed results. So to date, one can't say that marijuana is good for people with epilepsy. This, like any medication, prescription or over the counter, including herbal products, supplements or 'other therapies', should be talked about carefully with the doctor treating the person.  Neurologists who specialize in epilepsy would have the most info on this I think.

When sharing experiences, let's be careful about telling people what to do for medical treatment of seizures.

Thanks!
