I was diagnosed at 16 too and Im on my first semester of college as a 17 year old.I actually had a similar experience with the doctors being rude then actually check something out and then they are all nicey nicey.
But anyways I totally regret not replying to you this late because I would have liked to have made a podcast for your project it souded really interesting, but my school work is overwhelming right now.
Advice for someone without a definite major. Im juggling all this school work and it's kind of starting to feel like it's for nothing.Im on a Liberal Arts Program at a Community College. Im suppost to transfer to a different school sometime whenever, to take advantage of free tuition. And so Im worried that when I do realize "what I want to do in life", that the work is not tranferable and that it wouldv'e just been better to take a break.
Thanks so much!

hey,
i'm not quite 17 (rather 26) but I was diagnosed at 16 got college entrance at 17 did an exchange and started college at 18 got a bachelor of arts in pol sci and int. relations by 21 and am now doing post grad secondary teaching. so if you have any questions i may be able to help, my biggest advice is just know your own limits and have your own goals (my goal was to get a degree, i didn't know what i wanted to be). i drink (and yes occasionally its to excess it doesnt effect my seizure tolerance), i don't do drugs (occasional marijuanas probably fine from what i hear, but the other ones i'm not so sold on so it's easier just to not do it than wake up in the ER with annoyed Dr's its not fun. I had a seizure on a flight home from amsterdam once and ended up in hospital the Dr's were a bit rude until they got my blood tests and then they were like oh ok and then they were much nicer), and just be open with friends the more you're cool about it the cooler other people are about it.
could I ask a favour though I'm giving a multimedia presentation to my class at college on epilepsy and learning, would you be able to make a podcast or short video about what its like as an epileptic in school my thread about what i'm doing is here http://my.epilepsy.com/discussion/996703 and a view from someone else would be awesome?!!
thanks
