Seizures and yawning, stretching

Sat, 12/06/2008 - 11:08

I've noticed a coorelation between stretching and yawning with my seizures.  In particular, I do these compulsive strings of half yawns (meaning, they're full yawns, but for the most part I'm not sucking in air, just stretching my mouth or some such) and these extended stretches.  I'm not sure if they're part of my "episodes," an aura to them, or part of the post-ictal, but I've definitely noticed they're there.

Does anyone else have/do something similar? I'd love to hear. :-)

Always questioned if i had seizures…

Im 44 and for the last few years when i stretch -usually after waking so thankfully still laying down, often during or after yawning i drop into a fully conscious seizure-like thing where i can see, hear and feel but have no motor control, shake/spasm violently like a fish out of water with tingly warm feeling all over including my tongue which also feels larger. Slightly dizzy afterwards. Also constantly told nothing wrong and can get no further medical investigation as it doesn't happen randomly. Very scary and frustrating. Before id also get a kind of tunnel vision with the 'wawawa' effect or black out. I have had severe insomnia since childhood and often wake up suddenly just before dropping into sleep. The past 2 years though i've been incredibly tired but blood and hormone tests came back normal and so 'i must be fine. No problems.' So i cannot get further investigation. And now im in japan and at socialized healthcares mercy and doctors who have little actual care for my concerns. I have to fight to get anything here.

Don't know whether the stretching and yawning are seizures itself. I have simple partials and it's not that I don't have seizures after (toe twitches, arm jerking) but I yawn a lot and my stretching is not just bending back. Sometimes I do but it gets worse when I'm on my computer or game or sitting in the car. My arms go up or backwards, bend sideways or backwards, legs stiffened and stretched out and pounding in my ears. But it seems like a possible seizure activity itself. There are at least 40+ types of Epilepsy and I'm getting three strange activity; yawning, stretching, staring (NOT COMPLEX OR ABSENCE)
