Repeated word/phrase stuck in my head

Sat, 06/24/2006 - 12:29
I've notice recently that I'll be thinking about something and then one of the words or pharases will repeat in my head for hours or sometimes all day. This will also happen with a song, which will repeat NON-STOP for up to 2 days. Then another song will be picked up for a day or so. I will wake up with this song or hear it in my dreams. It drives me crazy! I don't know if this is some funny new thing that has started up recently or if I just didn't notice it until I started having Partial Seizures in February. Perhaps it used to happen, but I've only recently noticed because I'm so sensitive about the workings of my mind/brain since these seizures started happening. I was wondering if any of you experienced this and does anybody think this might be related to my seizures? PS - I've also started having memory problems, but it seems to soon too already be experiencing that. I do have about 3-5 CPS/SPS each week, but this just started 2/1/06. ? ? ? Thanks, Reb

I don't know whether to call it a word, a phrase, a song...or WHAT! But sometimes, I get this rush of excitement in my head, and my thoughts RACE...I can literally feel my head SPIN. But yeah, it kind of resembles what you just said, but for me, it's never gone into a seizure. I am on Tegretol XR 200mgs per day. (maybe it's an aura?) Whatever it is - it feels weird!

Unless we are purposely

Unless we are purposely dreaming WE control the thoughts in our head. However, if/ when the electricity in our brain suddenly surges.. we experience what is beyond our control. It may be as simple as thought intrusion (eg. when I had simple partials as a child..the feeling of immense fear suddenly 'gripped me'); whereas, while still driving two years ago I had a couple of momentary sensations when I had no idea where I was while in my own home (= 'jamais vu' simple partials) Stupidly, due to never having had a jamais vu seizure before, I didn't realize those feelings indicated my drugs were no longer working. http://www.epilepsy.com/101/ep101_symptom.html will tell you 'racing thoughts' & 'strange feelings' are part of an aura (= a simple partial seizure when it occurs immediately before a complex partial or a generalized version) If the feelings occur alone = it's a simple partial. ~sol
