starting school im terrified for him

Mon, 08/30/2004 - 05:58

My son caleb is 5 . He started to have seziures at 3. He was diagnosed with 'Pediatric idiopathic epilepsy" .I'm worried he will go to school and get away from his teachers and wander around lost.Sometimes its so bad its all I think about for hours at a time. I control myself when he's around because I dont want him to get as worried as I am. He can't wait to start. How do I let him go? I know he has to go but what if something happens, the only school that would take him is half way across town and would take almost 30 min. to get to him. I need some advice on how to handle my feeling without ruining the start of his school life.

Thanks for the update and just glad that you did.Caring does matter, and a listening ear can really help. That matters to you,as it does to us all.It comes through in your post how school are going to treat your son.Good,I'm sure we all hope, and with you behind him,I'm certain they willl at least listen.

Some story regarding the ambulance drivers....But glad that you won,and got them to see your point of view.
