Mind pulses, head zaps?

Thu, 03/03/2005 - 07:47
Every few months, my husband has something happen where it's like he feels pulses in his head that interupt his concentration. they only last about 2 seconds but can happen every minute or two. This lasts about 5 days before it goes away. He has not had a major seizure for about 7 years, so he is very fortunate, but we're concerned about these "head zaps" and the doctor doesn't really seem to know what to tell him. He just increased his meds. Sometimes it happens when life is stressful and sometimes it just happens, so we don't know if it is really related to stress. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Hi there my son Justin is 9 he has been seizuring for 18 months we have been on a roller coaster ride. He is on valproic acid and it was working great.. We have had 4 eeg's which have shown no activity mean while his seizures are changing and progressing. Lately he has been talking about these zapping feelings on the right side of his brain and that he can only use half of his body.  Sometimes he has eye twitching and tingling before they happen and other times he has no idea. The doctor is baffled.. We are comfused we are still fighting to get and MRI done.

My head zaps feel like a big pop, like something burst.  I thought it might be a mini stroke.  My doctor says it happens and I had the MRI to clear the possiblity of tumor or stroke for another more problematic concern.  All that showed was that I had alot of brains.  Now if only I had the paycheck that is supposed to go with them!  So relax, and chalk it up to one of those things they will figure out sooner or later.
