MEDICAL ALERT I.D.'s

Wed, 11/17/2004 - 14:25

HI I am wondering if anybody else has had the same problem as I am having. My Dr. has told me that I need to get some sort of Medical I.D. to wear. because as most of you know that when you have a seizure after you are unable to remember things that are important like where you are and how you got there. My problem is I have looked and look but everything I find is so exspensive. I want to register with the medical alert system which seems like the best way to go because my Dr. would be contacted right away but I can't afford a good bracelet. I don't want something cheep that I will have to replace everytime I turn around, but spending $500.00 is not something I can do.

is there anybody who can recomend a good place to buy a good medical I.D. bracelet or even just the charms?

    thank you for any help.

I wear one, which I bought at CVS for about $10.00. Most people mistake it for a watch. I think it is a really good idea to wear one, better safe than sorry.

You can find medical alert bracelets on ebay under italian charms. My husband has epilepsy and he hates wearing bracelets. He likes this one alot better it is easy to get on and off. My mother also wanted won for her medical condition and she likes it alot better than the ones from the stores. It runs about $5-10. and you can add other italian charms on it.

I've been wearing medical alert bracelets for nearly 10 years and I now have a really nice one for only 25 bucks. It's nicer than the one I used to have that I got for 125. With the company medic alert the cheapest bracelet is only 20 bucks. My dad said you can also get them pretty cheap at drug stores
