Need some advice on Nocturnal seizures

Wed, 05/30/2007 - 15:33
Hello everyone, I can first say that I don't think I have epilepsy, but I know many of you will understand and may be able to help me. I have already had around 5 seizures in my sleep and 3 have been witnessed be others. I have woken up once already in an ambulance and a few times where I just feel like I been hit by a train, but my partner tells me that I had a seizure. My last one was a few days ago and the seizure occured right after I fell asleep. He foudn me shaking and foaming at the mouth, and then I followed him into the kitchen and was talkign to him, but barely made sense. THe problem is, I never gained consiousness till I was back lying in bed with him and I started cryign ebcause I realized then what happened. After my seizure I also lose short term memory and forget where I am and many other things I should know. I have had a cat scan and an EEG, btu they found nothing adn said I do not have epilepsy, but it may be triggered from stress. I will go see a doctor next week, but really I was wondering if there is anyoen out there that has experienced that same type of seizures because they are very scary adn I am afraid to go to sleep now.

There is also seizures called psychogenic seizures, psuedo, nonepileptic seizures. They are more from stress, anxiety, depression..... http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/seizure_psychogenic.html They are undetected on an E.E.G. That is how they know they are psuedoseizures. Have an EEG monitoring done. Also check out these pillows for safety measures. http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach1/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

People who have non-epileptic seizures almost never foam at the mouth. Get a second opinion!
