going into hospital....

Thu, 09/29/2005 - 21:50
Well I went to the epileptologist for the first time yesterday.I really liked her,so that's a good thing!Since all my tests came back normal she wants to repeat the VEEG and also have the heart monitor on me.She will stop my Tegretol to bring a seizure on,which really doesn't need to be done since I still have 2 seizures a day.My heart has been racing with the seizures.Plus I fell again.OUCH! I'll be in for a week or two.The appointment has not been made yet I am waiting for the office to call me.They know that they are seizures but now they are not sure if it is epilepsy. So please pray for me that all goes well..I'm sure it will but is nice to know that there are other people praying for you.Thank you and God bless all.

I have just started seeing a new specialist too. She is send me in for my first VEEG on Thursday of this week (5-18-06) and I am scared. I have been taking Depakote 2000 mg a day for 18 years and Keppra for the past year (I am now up to 1750 mg per day). They are going to take me off of all medications to induce seizures in me. They did not say anything about when they will put me back on them. They also said the procedure should only take 3 to 5 days. The whole thing has me confused as far as being able to just stop and start all of the AED's like that. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks !
