Call for Scientific Posters, Commercial Posters and Exhibitors: Submissions CLOSED

The Epilepsy Foundation is pleased to announce a call for scientific posters and exhibitors at the 4th Biennial Epilepsy Pipeline Conference 2014, an initiative of the Epilepsy Therapy Project held on June 5-7, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Showcasing the most promising epilepsy therapies from healthcare companies dedicated to pioneering and advancing drugs, biologics, technologies and devices for epilepsy and seizures, this year's conference featured scientific poster and commercial exhibit sessions, the third annual "Shark Tank" competition, and a special day designated for people with epilepsy, families and advocates.

The Epilepsy Pipeline Conference brought together decision-makers with a stake in the field of epilepsy treatment, therapeutic innovation and product development. Speakers and attendees  included emerging biotech and medical technology companies, major pharmaceutical and device companies and researchers and innovators at the cutting-edge of epilepsy and CNS treatment advances.

Scientific Posters: Day 1 and 2 | Epilepsy Pipeline Conference | June 5 - 6, 2014: Submissions CLOSED

Overview

Scientific postersinclude translational or applied (clinical) research in which a new therapy is part of the outcome expected from the investigations. Potential new drugs or devices are especially welcome. Poster presenters are exempt from the registration fee if the abstract is received by EF by May 12, 2014. Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.

Abstract Selection Criteria and Process

  • Novel and innovative posters are encouraged, but submissions must be based on sound principles of rigorous research.
  • All posters should address an appropriate topic of scientific discussion. Presentations should not include commercial messages.
  • Previously presented studies are acceptable.
  • Abstracts will be judged by a Poster Selection Committee based on the appropriateness and rigor of research methodology, the use of reliable quantitative or qualitative data, analytical strength and depth, and the overall quality of the science and scientific impact (e.g., significance, translational potential, and/or innovation).

Submission Guidelines and General Information

  • Abstracts not to exceed two pages (600 words).
  • Abstracts must be submitted by May 12, 2014 to obtain remission of registration fee.
  • Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Abstracts submitted after May 12th will be considered if poster space is available. If abstract is accepted, registration is required; fee is not waived.
  • Notification to the senior author of acceptance/rejection will occur within 2-4 weeks after the abstract is received by EF.
  • Authors selected will be provided a standard 4' x 8' poster board to display their presentation.
  • The author is responsible for setting up and taking down his/her poster.
  • The posters will up from 7:00 am June 5th until 6:00 pm June 6th, 2014.
  • The author is expected to be present for at least one of the two formal poster sessions, at lunchtime on June 5th and/or June 6th.
  • Poster presenters are responsible for their own travel, lodging and meals.

Commercial Posters & Exhibit Space: Day 1 and 2 | Epilepsy Pipeline Conference | June 5 - 6, 2014: Submissions CLOSED

This year the Epilepsy Pipeline Conference is pleased to offer exhibit space at no cost for companies and non-profit epilepsy organizations interested in meeting with conference attendees. These attendees represent decision-makers with a stake in the field of epilepsy treatment, therapeutic innovation and product development. Conference participants include leading clinicians, researchers and innovators at the cutting –edge of epilepsy and CNS treatment advances, community leaders from voluntary epilepsy organizations, emerging biotech and medical technology companies, and major pharmaceutical and device companies.

As an exhibitor, you have the opportunity to connect with leaders who attend to learn and to educate other conference participants on the latest advances in epilepsy care and new therapies.

Submission Guidelines and General Information

  • Requests for exhibit space are encouraged by May 12th. Exhibit space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Exhibit room will be open from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm during conference program, Thursday, June 5th and Friday, June 6th. Formal security will not be provided.
  • Exhibitors must be present during networking poster sessions at lunchtime on Thursday, June 5th and Friday, June 6th.
  • Exhibitors will be provided with One (1) – 6' x 30" schoolroom table and Two (2) chairs, or 4' x 8' poster board.
  • Set-Up and Dismantle time(s) will be provided.
  • Exhibitors will be responsible for their exhibit (setting up/taking down).
  • Exhibit space may include area behind exhibitors table and chairs for displaying a banner or poster.
  • Access to Electric and Wi-Fi is available for Exhibit Table. A cost for these options may apply; please inquire.

Exhibit Space for Day 3 – Family Day | Saturday, June 7, 2014

The Epilepsy Foundation is pleased to offer exhibit space at no cost for companies and non-profit epilepsy organizations interested in meeting with conference attendees. The Epilepsy Pipeline Conference has become a must-attend forum for investigators, companies and investors seeking or offering new ideas to advance epilepsy therapy. We are excited to again share the latest thoughts on treating epilepsy with those at the center of our community—people diagnosed with epilepsy--along with their friends and family.

Family and Friends Day will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2014. Led by some of the nation's leading experts and advisors, this special session, open to the public and at no cost, will offer valuable insights into living with and treating epilepsy, as well as an opportunity to review: the most promising emerging new drugs and rescue therapies, devices, and hot topics such as medical marijuana. Also discussed will be dietary therapies and epilepsy care.

Exhibit Submission Requests, Guidelines and General Information

  • Requests for exhibit space are encouraged by May 12th. Exhibit space, located on the conference hall level, is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Exhibit tables will be open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm during conference program, Saturday, June 7th.
  • Exhibitors must be present during networking breaks and at lunchtime.
  • Exhibitors will be provided with One (1) – 6' x 30" schoolroom table and Two (2) chairs.
