Zonegran?

Sun, 08/12/2007 - 18:41
Most likely my 10 month old son will be starting Zonegran later this week. He is currently taking Clonopin and Topamax. The Topamax was working for a few months but it seems to have stopped. Has anyone had experience with Zonegran? He did not appear to have any side effects from the Topamax so I am nervous about starting a new drug.

My daughter (almost age 5) has done so much better on the Zonegran than Topamax. She did not tolerate Topamax well at all and was only on it for 1 week. I think we will have to increase her med dosage though after 2 months because she is still having seizures that I can observe, although I don't know how much they are being controlled because most of hers can't be detected with the human eye. :-( Hugs to you and your sweek young son. Hey I hope everything is doing better. Cater was on Zonegran for about a year. He did very well on it the only side effects I noticed was that he didnt sweat much so we had to keep an eye on his body tempture. Also when they had to increase his medicine he was very cranky and irritable for a couple of days. Good luck to you I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
