MRI for 4.5 yr old in 2 weeks to detect....

Thu, 07/12/2007 - 18:58
She is having partial seizures that quickly move to general seizures, possibly 1000 a day! She has partial and general seizures from 1-30 seconds each. The MRI is to try to pin point where the partial are coming from in her frontal lobe. If they can find it, and it's in a good spot for removal, they might recommend removal surgery (I can't even fathom going through this). I don't know what I am asking for. I'm overwhelmed! Experiences, thoughts, support..... She's on Zonegran. Thanks! Susan

I am so sorry you and your daughter are having such a rough time.I hope you get some answers when she has her eeg. Hang in there. My daughter was two when she started having seizures. She is six now. I have not had to deal with it to the degree that you are but I do know how overwhelming sometimes that it can feel.I didnt know about this site until we had been at this for almost three years. It was so hard and sometimes I felt all alone in this.I have great friends and family but know one that could truely understand my fears and frustration in dealing with this.My thoughts are with you.

Thank you very much for you post and support. It is so good to know I am not alone but it's too bad that anyone has to deal with it at all. s
