Memory loss and remembering somethings that never happened

Wed, 02/24/2016 - 12:10
hi! I'm new here and though I don't personally have epilepsy, my Dad does... I'm really concerned and confused and I'm just trying to learn a bit about all of this. I have read on the forums and it seems that memory loss is fairly common, but I was wondering about created memories? (like my Dad will remember events that never happened...) anyone had that type of experience?

OK memory loss??? When visiting my brothers with sister there I can bring up something I remember very well, Brothers can't remember any of it. So they think I am having a problem. Then Sis remembers it. I am the one with epilepsy. My brothers had the memory loss. Some people remember things others forget if it didn't affect them in certain ways. Memory loss does happen but there are many people that can remember things from way back. If they remember something I don't I ask questions. The question might hit a switch and it bring up different things and after a period of time I do remember. Just like they remembered after Sis said something that happened at that point.

thank you for your insight!

thank you for your insight!  yeah I try not to question if he starts talking about something that didn't happen unless it's like an errand or something... he was frantic last week because he couldn't find tax papers so I just reminded him that he had already turned them in (and then he remembered...) but most of the time it's just random things... It's just scary and I want to help but to do that I need to understand a little more ya know?  or at least try to...
