Infantile Spasms (West Syndrome)

Sun, 11/19/2006 - 09:36
I know there have been several other posts and threads on this, but I wanted to actually inform other parents whose child has been diagnosed with Infantile spasms of another community specifially for IS. It might be a little easier to navigate and talk, since the entire forum is for this seizure type. It is also a private forum, meaning you must register to read and post. http://www.infantilespasms.com/forum/index.php I am a moderator on that board, and the mother of a 17 month old with Infantile Spasms. Her seizures have not been controlled with any medication. We have just recently discovered that the right hemisphere of her brain has grown, and this may be why we are unable to achieve any seizure control. And I also wanted to let other parents know that you can always email me if you need someone to talk to about infantile spasms. I am no expert - but I am another parent and I a can share my experience, and sometimes that is better than what any literature will tell you.
