hearing loss after 4 serious seizures

Sat, 07/30/2016 - 02:33
Today my partner suffered 4 massive seizures. She's had them before, but never like this. From a sound sleep she started to thrash like crazy. She usually is somewhat responsive after her typical seizures, but not after this one. I, however, waited an hour to see if she would be ok without a trip to the ER. After two more horrible seizures left her with the worst case of "post-octal" I've ever seen with her I called the ambulance. She had a 4th seizure on the way there. This sudden occurrance of the worst seizures I've seen her with left her really confused - short term memory loss, not knowing where she was and HEARING LOSS! When we got home from the ER I noticed that when I spoke, she ignored me. But them I realized SHE COULDNT HEAR ME. I have had to yell everything since she's been home. CT scan showed no damage. Blood tests were normal, but she can't HEAR. Has anyone encountered this? And if so, is it temporary? She has so many medical problems that if she went deaf too, I think she'd kill herself. PLEASE ANYONE can you answer my question? Could it be from the Keppra they introduced for the first time? I am also concerned about her dementia-like state of mind. She didn't know where we were or what had happened and couldn't even talk for a LONG period of time. Its been 12 hours since that first violent seizure and she still isn't really better, although she did finally get some sleep. I am new to these very serious seizures and I am scared. Please advise.
