Generalized Seizure and Nose Bleed

Fri, 10/13/2006 - 20:26
Hi. My son had a generalized seizure at school this week. The teacher said he had a bloody nose. He did fall but he hit the back of his head. I was wondering if a nose bleed is sometimes associated with a seizure, it seems to ring a bell. My son is 13 (almost 14) years old and has been on AED's since he was 2. Thank you in advance for any responses. Alison

My son had a seizure last

My son had a seizure last week at school most likely.  We are having him eval'd for epilepsy.  He is 16.  When he was younger, he used to get febrile seizures but he hasn't had a high fever since he was 5 so who knows if he still gets them?  Anyway, the teacher did not call 911, or get the nurse, or tell me until several hours later.  I called the ER and they said that if he appeared fine, then not to worry.  Should I have taken him anyway???  Today, a week and a couple of days later, out of the blue, he had a bloody nose.  He used to get them all the time, but it has been awhile.  Could they be related, do you think?  I know nothing about what's going on.  He has been to a dr, who is referring him for an MRI/brain and to a neurologist, but this bloody nose is a new symptom to me and I'm concerned.

Like, I'm not for sure it WAS a seizure.  He has memory loss and is going off what his friends and his teacher said.  No one is really clear.
