doctors

My son, 17,  was diagnosed with epilepsy two and a half years ago.  In that time period, he has had six seizures, five of them due to sleep deprivation.  Our current doctor is an epileptoloist at Mayo in Jacksonville.  He is a great doctor, but he always wants to refer me to a local neurologist.  I live in a small town, and there are no neurologists who deal with epilepsy.  When I called to schedule another appointmentat Mayo, the receptionist said my son's  file said to see local neurologist.  We have had no bad dealings with this doctor, but I feel as if he is attempting to dismiss us because my son's case is not as serious as what he normally deals with.  I am thankful for this, but I still want my son's epilepsy dealt with in the best way possible.  I am looking for a new epedleptologist in Georgia, and the choices seem numerous, but I would like opinions from other parents about doctors they have been pleased with.  Thank you.

I read your post and I understand you want to have a doctor take care of your son. I also know that you are on a site that can help get you to a good neurologist that treat patients with epilepsy. I also know that there are neurologists that can treat your son in smaller town because I was in one. If you go to the get help section you can see find a doctor. and yes you can eneter your zip code and find one in your area. Another way to do it is by using the 24/7 help line that can be called and yo will get a person that can assist you in finding information doctors and other things you are wanting help gettint.  If I were you I would be calling the 24/7 help lime which is also located at the bottom of this page. I hope you get the assistamce you need
