2 year old starting to have non-febrile seizures

Thu, 04/19/2007 - 13:00
Okay- so I have one daughter who has partial simple seizures- mostly absence although the past few weeks they've changed to mood/rages and we've added lamictal to our trilepital- so helpful by the way to read so many post where kids have these combinations- ANYWAY- My two year old has the same spikes in his eeg- we know this because he had a febrile seizure and because of his sister's issues they did an eeg. Well, Monday night, he threw-up in his crib and night and didn't tell us. Fine the next day. Wednesday morning my husband couldn't wake him up. Couldn't get him to stand and my husband said he was like he was trying to talk but couldn't. Lasted about 2 hours. Then later that day my friend was watching him and she said he stared into space and had twitching in his eyes and lips. I guess I'm in denial.... I don't want it to be true- do you guys think he's having non-febrile seizures now? Throwing up and complaining of nausea is not a normal symptom for my daugther could this be part of a seizure?

Hello, Yes I believe the vomiting can be a sign of having had a seizure. My 8 yr son vomits after his seizures. His seizures started febrile grand mal. He would seize at 99 degrees. He has complex partial seizures now & absence seizures. I'm not a Dr. But I am sorry to say it does sound like a seizure your son had in the crib and with your friend. Mom of DM
