10 month old with seizures, keppra not working

Sat, 01/17/2015 - 23:41

My daughter is 10 months .Her first seizure was the same day as her 4 month shots, it lasted 45 minutes. The emt had trouble pulling her out. The next month (5 months) she had 2 seizures in a week. She was diagnosed with epilepsy. After her 6 moths shots she had a seizure the next day and had a seizure twice a week, with partial seizures almost everyday. Her seizures are getting further apart, last night was the furthest apart at almost 4 weeks. But all last week she had partial seizures everyday. She was on phenobarbital, where she went up to the max dose for her age and now she's on keppra. They are telling me she's at her max dose for her age again and now they want to put her on topiramate ( topamax). Does anyone know anything about this drug? Does anyone have any advice for me?
