New To This, Maybe? Help

Hi, About 2 months ago I started noticing problems with my speech and thought process. I would blank out in the middle of a sentence and completely forget what I was saying. I would have a clear thought but it would come out as jumble. I would stutter. And I know this all sounds normal to a point that everyone has these moments, but it was happening so often it was frustrating and concerning because I've always been a good speaker. I can't remember ever being worried about any of this. So I decided to see my general doctor. My general doctor immediately sent me to a neurologist. After meeting with him he ordered an mri and a eeg. The mri came back normal. The eeg I had lasted about 20 minutes. They did the epilepsy test with the flashed of light, then did a hyperventilating test and then it was 10 minutes of me just sitting there with my eyes closed. Time lapsed from those tests and my next appointment and I had stopped noticing the original symptoms. Idk if it's because I got used to it or I wasn't searching them out from concern, but I'm not saying they weren't happening I just wasnt taking note of it anymore because after seeing the normal mri I had convinced myself I was fine. When I returned for my appointment he told me that I had 2 episodes in my eeg. He didn't directly tell me they were seizures but he said they could be. He asked me about when I was younger and what I was like because I had told him I've been diagnosed with ADD since I was a child. It made me think he might think I've been having seizures instead of ADD. This is where my questions come in. He prescribed me lamictal twice daily and I have a 24 hour eeg in may. Is this safe to take without knowing for sure I'm having seizures? Do I have epilepsy? Should I wait to take this until after we see more on the 24 hour eeg? I'm really concerned and confused on what I should be doing and what is safe for me. Does anyone have any insight for me?

Slow down Did he say you had

Slow down Did he say you had 2 episodes in your EEG. You follow that with he didn't say they were seizures..   Big difference. Could he have said epileptiform  or seizure activity instead of episode? Yes if you have a seizure during the EEG it will be seen. But the EEG is a test showing the electrical activity coming from the brain. If a neurologist sees abnormalities which are spikes, waves aka seizure activity or epileptiform. They are seeing electrical impulses hitting wrong in the brain. If they are seen they then know where in your brain they came from. What causes a seizure is an electrical impulse hitting wrong in your brain which causes a chain reaction. The neurologist is looking at the EEG and using it to prescribe a medication. If the neurologist saw 2 abnormalities he saw seizure activity which can cause a seizure. In other words those spikes or wave I posted up there ^^^^^. ..The neurologist is wanting you to start treatment which is why he prescribed the medicine. He wants a 24 hour EEG which will give him more to look at. OH and yes ADD comes from the brain and medications are used for it too. A misdiagnosis could have been made years ago.If you have noticed the problems and there have been more then 2 then the neurologist is doing what he thinks is best.If your episodes are seizures then they need to start treatment as soon as they can. Delaying treatment and the episodes become more frequent and stronger. Lamictal is a good medication and does work. I used it years ago. It reduced the number of seizures but I wanted better control so we switched to another medication. If the RX says 2 times a day try and make those times 12 hours apart.

I got the results for the VEEG and the doctor said he didn't see anything. He still wants me to take the lamictal but I feel like he's not sure what's going on and neither am I. I don't want to take something for nothing. What if what he originally saw was nothing. I'm more at a loss now than I was before
