New To This, Maybe? Help

Hi, About 2 months ago I started noticing problems with my speech and thought process. I would blank out in the middle of a sentence and completely forget what I was saying. I would have a clear thought but it would come out as jumble. I would stutter. And I know this all sounds normal to a point that everyone has these moments, but it was happening so often it was frustrating and concerning because I've always been a good speaker. I can't remember ever being worried about any of this. So I decided to see my general doctor. My general doctor immediately sent me to a neurologist. After meeting with him he ordered an mri and a eeg. The mri came back normal. The eeg I had lasted about 20 minutes. They did the epilepsy test with the flashed of light, then did a hyperventilating test and then it was 10 minutes of me just sitting there with my eyes closed. Time lapsed from those tests and my next appointment and I had stopped noticing the original symptoms. Idk if it's because I got used to it or I wasn't searching them out from concern, but I'm not saying they weren't happening I just wasnt taking note of it anymore because after seeing the normal mri I had convinced myself I was fine. When I returned for my appointment he told me that I had 2 episodes in my eeg. He didn't directly tell me they were seizures but he said they could be. He asked me about when I was younger and what I was like because I had told him I've been diagnosed with ADD since I was a child. It made me think he might think I've been having seizures instead of ADD. This is where my questions come in. He prescribed me lamictal twice daily and I have a 24 hour eeg in may. Is this safe to take without knowing for sure I'm having seizures? Do I have epilepsy? Should I wait to take this until after we see more on the 24 hour eeg? I'm really concerned and confused on what I should be doing and what is safe for me. Does anyone have any insight for me?
