I'm new

Tue, 04/25/2006 - 04:39
Hi. My name is Allison. I've had epilepsy since the age of 9. I'm now 42. I have myoclonic and partial seizures. I am for the most part controlled except for extremes in temperatures or stress. My question is this, does epilepsy affect the memory or does the medications? I'm taking Dilantin and Clonopin. I'm also having problems with hair loss. Thank you.

Is there a certain time to write on here or that questions are answered? I'm sorry, I'm new to this. Am I doing this right?

Hi there, Welcome on board I'm relatively new myself and wasn't really sure of what to do at first, but once you get into the swing of things everyone is very caring and supportive, I found this out very quickly. Time wise it depends where you are, I'm in the U.K. and I work nights so i tend to log on when I come in from work and as most people seem to be in the U.S. it's late evening for them which is a good time to catch people. Anything to do with meds go to medication issues and someone will always have an opinion or be going through the same as you. I also found writing my blog very therapeutic and the comments people leave for you are always very helpful and supportive. In the short time I've been a member I've learned a heck of a lot and it just makes you good feeling everyone is on your side no matter where you are. I hope some of this helps and it's great to have you on board. Andy.

Andy, Thank you so much for the words of welcome and encouragement. I have to admit, I'm nervous. After I wrote on here earlier I was reading the different places and everyone seems to know everyone. That is so great. And everyone talks so openly about their seizures. This amazes me. I've never done this. I've never felt I couldn't, I felt more like I shouldn't. Thank you again! Ali~
