Feeling out of control

Mon, 10/06/2014 - 11:28

Hello!

i have been dwelling these forums for a few weeks- since my neurologist wrote down a preliminary diagnosis of epilepsy (i looked up his medical codes).  I went in for headaches (severe, everyday with auras all day, loss of balanc, loss of muscle control, etc.)

This morning I had an experience that I  not sure if it was a seizure.  10 minutes after wakig- i began having a bad headache with nausea and auras.  I got ready, then about 40 monutes later walked  out of the house with my son... On the way out, I smelled something gross, continued walking, bevame very dizzy, and my headache became very severe.  I made it to the car, put my son in- and the dizziness began to subside over the next 5 minutes. With in 30 minutes- my headache began to subside.

an hour after the onset, I am just left with a dull pounding sensation in my head.  Is it possible this was a seizure?

thank you!

Krissy

depending on the type of seizure. Absence seizures (petite mal) can and have been over looked for many years since a person in one looks like someone day dreaming. For about 2 years I had been written up for day dreaming when in reality I had pettite mal seizures. It does take time to research the types of seizures listed. The way to understand a little better is to get your neurlolgist to tell you the type of epilepsy you have. Knowing that you might be able to look closer at the types of seizures that land in the type of epilepsy you have. With me I was diagnosed well before neurologists went into specialities. Once that happened they came up with new types of epilepsy and types of seizures. More is being done and believe me the meds today are nothing like htey were when I was diagnosed.

Thanks, Joe! Had my eeg last

Thanks, Joe! Had my eeg last week (closed eyes)- and have my follow up on Wednesday... I'm feeling nervous- i haven't heard from the neuro's mouth yet if it is epilepsy! I know i need these headaches to stop. Every day I get a terrible headache, where my head actually visually pulsates... I've had fainting spells, loss of motor control, pins and needles... I just want to know what's wrong at this point :-(
