Trend Graph Desired

Sun, 06/19/2011 - 18:53

Hello,

I have been using the Epilepsy Diary for over a year now, but I have been keeping electronic records of my seizures in an excel spreadsheet since 2008.

I use the Android version of the client app to capture seizure information, and log onto the web portal to configure some portions of data more easily (such as reminders and meds). I constantly seem to have to re-authenticate on the client, even with the "Remember me" (Ask Credentials) check box checked. This is only a minor problem, but I wonder if you have seen it before.

The good stuff:

I like the ease of navigation in the phone app, the ease of entry of data, and the relative stability of the app. I write bug reports directly to the developer for any bugs found, the forum is not the correct location. In the past, I have had all of my three issues fixed by development - which is good form! :-)

I like the format of your Diary reports, the types of seizures, the number of seizures and the chart data is all very well presented. Missing meds information is easy to correlate to seizure events and so forth. The most useful data to print out was the Diary Records data in the list form.

The not so good stuff:

Some of the charts did not print at all. The "blue" of the blue bar graphs did not print,  and some of the orange colours did not print. I am using Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 SP1. Nothing too special, and the LexMark 3600 series printer works perfectly otherwise. So some chart graphs were not so useful (for me at least) to print out. Others may have more success.

Stuff I would find very useful:

This is where enhancements could be made ;-)   What I find most useful to provide my Neurologist is a "trend graph" which is a graph based on month-by-month data and then it plots a trend line between all the months.

I plot two main data points, number of overall seizures, and numbers of days / month when seizures occur. I then plot this into a graph, and I provive a trend line graph dating from 2008 to present day.

Since My Epilepsy diary does not have such functionality, I use the diary to accurately and easily record the seizure information, and then I print it out and enter it into my spreadsheet to provide trend data.

This would be a cool feature for your Diary. Thoughts?

Rob

Rob, Lots of good thoughts here but not sure this will be seen by the right people. Better subject line "Suggestions for MY EPILEPSY DIARY" Just want to see your great work incorporated. Thanks for taking the time to write it up. Signed, Another user
