Trileptal and Heart Rate Suppression/Blackout
Fri, 07/01/2005 - 16:14Took my nightly dose of Trileptal (just switched from Tegrotol a week ago) and proceeded to being working out about an hour later, hitting a heavy bag (high impact workout). After 15 minutes, I still had PLENTY of gas, where normally I would be exhausted, as I am overweight. I went back to continue working out, and proceeded to pass out, crash to the cement floor and fracture my eye socket. No aura, no tongue bite, etc. that has been typical with my prior seizures. Any ideas on what the heck happened?
Had an EEG a couple days later, and am still waiting for the results to be read, but the girl that took it said it looked normal...

OUCH! That had to Hurt!
Do you have Diabetes? Possibly your sugar dropped too low from the strenuous exercise. If I work out too long or too hard my reserves get used up and I can drop. Do you have Hypertension? Electrolytes being too low can also drop me. (possibly why athletes drink Gatorade) Some meds use up your minerals. I have to take Potassium to keep my levels up.
Hang in there and let us know how you are doing.
