Can medicine affect a relationship

Wed, 02/22/2006 - 19:33
I understand meds can cause moodiness and tension and all that, can they make you fall outta love? My bf of a 1 yr 1/2 just moved out. He says I don't feel the same because of Keppra he said it changed everything. Can a medicine really affect such a strong emotion like love?

I think the answer would be yes, it can absolutely affect a relationship! The side effects of many of our meds are things that are not too fun to live with ourselves, and definitely not fun for those around us. When they get to be this serious though, you should think about talking to your doctor about alternative medications. There are side effects to all of them, some worse than others, and each person can be affected differently. Try to talk to your doc, okay? Hi Barbie! You are absolutely correct and actually we have just published a new article discussing relationship issues and challenges for people with epilepsy. One of the challenges mentioned is AED side effects. Here is a link: www.epilepsy.com/articles/ar_1140636108.html Best Wishes, Epilepsy.com Editor
