Eye Twitching

Thu, 03/15/2007 - 17:54
For as long as I can remember I get the occasional twitch in my eyes. Nothing big, just occasionally the muscles jump. But ever since my first "episode" (Nov '06, still undergoing testing, the dr. is thinking either complex partial seizures or confusional migraines) I've noticed that I am getting them much more frequently; from once every month or two, to 20+ times a day. Could this be related? Anyone else experience this?

I recently had the eye twitching myself. I am not sure how long it's been going on because I never felt it but was pointed out to me by my family who thought I was about to start seizing again. During my last visit with my nuero (about a month ago) I asked him about it and dismissed it as having to much caffeine (even before I told him how much caffeine I consume a day). He did ask exactly where on the face I was twitching because it's location could easily determine between caffeine, seizure, clicks or other underlining issues. Mine was the left eye brow and sometimes eye lid. You should still bring the twitching up with your doctor and see what he/she thinks about it. Just as with medication, it effects people differently as with seizures. We are all made up differently and just cause my twitching may be due to caffeine yours may not be the same result. I hope this helped

It could be low dose of meds. But my daughter dont have epilepsy but she had twitching in her eyes. I gave her magnesium and b vitamins to help and it helped. But what meds are you taking? I am sure the doctor is giving you test to make sure what the problem is. lisa http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpilepsyApproach1/

Hi. I started having eye twitching about 1 month before my first seizure. At the time I had no idea what was happening but did not go and get it checked out. Then without warning I had my first seizure, after that I would still have the eye twitching most days. Then it slowed down and I found that when I had twitching it meant I was going to have another seizure a few days later. Now I am on meds, Tegretol, and no longer have any twitching. Are you on any meds and if so what? Maybe it's a sign of no a high enough dose,
