Sleep Deprived EEG

Fri, 10/31/2014 - 16:24

Hi All...

I had one complete seizure in 1999 after that I had 4 partial seizures but I am always conscious. I am hypoglicemic and I can see all of these partial seizures were a combination of low blood sugar not eating or hydrating myself properly and sleep deprivation. All my EEGs and MRIs are always normal but recently my doctor requested a sleep deprived EEG and I never done this kind of test before. At the hospital the technician kept pushing the strobe light closer and closer to my face and when the light was about 2 inches from my face I feel an odd swaying inside my head even though I know my head or body were not shaking. I would like to know if is a procedure for the technicians to move the light that close? I have done several regular EEGs and normally the light is fixed at one point they don't move that at all.
