Needing help for my baby

Sat, 06/11/2016 - 23:57
This is my first post on here so im not sure if i am posting right. I have been researching my sons condition endlessly online. I really don't know where to turn, as I lay here listening to my 10 month old breathe after yet another episode. The neuro diagnosed him as having night terrors at 6 months old, ignoring me when I said he started having them at 3 months. He wakes up screaming, kind of stiff, drooling, screaming, head limp, eyes look puckered and distant and he doesn't respond. He acts like he has a hard time breathing. Once we get him to come to and notice us after about 10 minutes, he continues to cry and scream like he's in pain. EEG normal. So neuro decided to rule it as night terrors because he said he's never seen anything like the video I showed him. My daughter has temporal lobe epilepsy and so does my mother. Both their EEG are normal. Does anyone on here have a child that has crying seizures or nocturnal seizures and can talk to me? Maybe look at my video so I can suggest something to this neuro? The episodes keep getting longer and longer and I'm scared of what will happen if we don't get the right diagnosis. I'm beyond terrified and have been since he's been 3 months old. Please someone help.

As Amy o posted get a second

As Amy o posted get a second opinion from a specialist in epilepsy. take the video with you and get a copy of the EEG. I had 20-25 different EEG's that all came back normal. I fell asleep in one which came back with seizure activity (spikes or waves aka abnormalities). They have longer EEG's and sleep deprived EEG's which might pick up spikes or waves.  As Amy Jo posted a clear or normal EEG doesn't rule out epilepsy. They can only read to a certain depth of he brain and the electrical activity the neurologists are looking for may be deeper.I hope this helps and he gets the assistance he needs Joe
