I have a question about depth electrodes

Thu, 10/18/2007 - 22:21
I am having intracranial depth electrodes placed on my temporal lobes on October 24. I went to my neurosurgeon today to talk about what will happening. She told me that they will go in through the back of my head and run the electrodes up to my temporal lobes/hippocampi. Why don't they just go through the sides of my head. I was just wondering. It sounds kind of wierd the way they are going to do that. Any help will be great. Thanks!
