My son has had his last 3 seizures on 3 Thrusdays in a row
Thu, 08/20/2009 - 15:53Hi... I'm a mom of a 14year old. He had his first seizure June 5 in the evening playing a laptop game...
He has had 6 more seizures over the summer. The 3 have been the last 3 thursdays... today, last thursday and the thursday before... and actually the one before that was the thursday 2 weeks before... Is that weird????
He is on Lamictal XR. At a dose of 300mg nightly. He has only been at 300mg for 5 days. How long does it take to get to the max dose in your blood? The Dr just prescribed Klonopin at .5mg at bedtime today...
I'm looking for any info... thanks

Did he do anything different on those Thursdays that he usually does not do on any other day? Food, drink, etc.

Szs are unpredictiable. You really don't know when they are coming, the increase in SZ though may be just because they have been messing with his medication, or maybe he gets strssed out on thursdays more than any other day of the week. (school, sports, ect) What kind of SZs does he have?
My brother has SZs, and I understand that you musst hate not knowing whats going on... This site has helped me a lot. I hope that it helps you.

Lamictal is a medication that you have to titrate very slowly to minimize the effects. Don't let me alarm you however. In my opinion I would like top see a steady Lamictal level before I would even consider adding another AED.
