Son, 16 wet bed, on Depakote

Mon, 09/11/2006 - 13:13
Hi my son who is 16 and just diagnosed with seizures is on Depakote. He wet his bed last night but doesn't think he had a seizure because he says he woke right up and realized what he was doing. It seems odd to me though. Last week he had his dose upped because he had two seizures (grand mals) in one day. Could the Depakote be affecting him?

I thought the same thing, that he had a seizure in bed but he says he woke up right away and got up to go finish in the bathroom. He has been on Depakote for about four months with the last dose being increased on his birthday Sept. 3rd because he had two seizures. I'm hoping that after puberty it won't be so bad for him and he won't have to take so much. Have you ever hurt yourself from a seizure? That's what I worry about the most, he's hurt himself three times since this all started. Thanks for you input.

Do you think it could have been a simple accident. Sometim,es people dream that they are going to the bathroom and they actually do. It happened to my mom once and she was an adult.
