Sodium Valproate (Epilim/Depakene) Made My Hair Fall out!

Hi!
I recently stopped taking Epilim (Sodium Valproate/Depakene) because it was making my hair fall out! :( Has anyone else had this side-effect from Sodium Valproate?
Before, I was on Lamictin (Lamotrigine/Lamictal) and it made me SO exhausted that we had to change it to Epilim! :(

That's hilarious because the package insert lists fatigue as a side-effect of Lamotrigine!

I'm so relieved to hear from others who have had the same symptoms as me! I was put on Epilim approx 7 years ago, then was changed to Lamictal 2 years ago. As a teacher my life is stressful, so I blamed my hairloss on this. I lost so much hair, I spent a lot of money going to see trichologiosts and brought all kinds of lotions and potions - I didn't even consider that Lamictal could be the culprit!! I didn't get on with Lamictal and was changed back to Epilim last year but I haven't really noticed a difference with my hair and to be honest it now rules my life. I am going to hairdressers today at 2pm, but am dreading having to look in the mirror and watch the strands keep falling out, not to mention the thinning at the front! I am due to see the neuro next year but will now definitely mention that others have had the same experience as me - thank you so much.
Is anyone taking a drug that doesn't interfere with hair! Look forward to hearing from you

How funny the doctor argued with me that Lamictal does not make you tired. It did my son too. He could sometimes sleep 20 out of 24 hours a day. That is scary as a parent to see your child so tired that he cannot function. And Depakote made him gain weight, (which he needed anyway). Kim
