Thu, 08/03/2006 - 21:02
Hi Everyone my name is Gina and I am 16 years old. I have had epilepsy since I was 8 mounths old. I had surgery when I was 9 years old back in 3rd grade. It was very scary at the time. Know my seizures are way better like I only have parcial complex right know. they don't bother me pritty much at all except for one reason DRIVING I can't drive and where i live they only have the city busses so right know since I can't drive I kind of feel out numbered. Does anyone feel like me. If there are any special ways to get around tell me if you know. Just right know since everyone I pritty much know is getting their licens I just wonder if anyone else feels the same way as me. You could talk to me when ever you want

Hi, I am 29 and have never had a drivers license because of the seizures. I was advised against it and still am. I know exactly how you feel. I Have 2 kids and have to depend on others to take me to take my kids places (having a husband does help smile), but I went through the same thing at 16, all my firends took drivers training and I couldnt. They always had to pick me up. But guess what? Everything is for a reason, just keep your head up and if you have really good friends you will find out by this. There is always public transportation too, try it all out. I hope it works out for you.

Hi Mqrishoana77 that's good to know that someone else is in the same position as me. Yahhh soon i want to learn the city transportation so I could get around easier. It sucks not being able to drive but then on the other hand we don't have to worry about gass money and stuff. What kind of seizures do you have. I have partial complex seizures. They don't really bother me. Everyday I take the school bus. I am going to be a junior this year. Ok I hope to keep in touch with you and you could talk to me when ever you want. Take care Love Gina

Hi I will never be able to drive not just becuase of the seizure but beucase I am register blind. I have a guide dog which is great as I am independent. I am lucky that where I live the public transport is very good. I go to university in London and so use the London underground which means I can get pretty much any where where I want to. It does get to me that I will never be able to drive, but I just think about all the mone I will be saving. I save money on not bying the car, I save money on not having to pay for the petrol, not having to pay for the repairs and the tax and everything else lol just think of all the shoes and CD's I can buy myself with that lol. Joking aside though. I have had all my life knowing that I will never be able to drive so I can't really imagine what it will be like for those of you who have been waiting to drive then all of a sudden that being taken away from you. take care of yourselves Hayley xxx p.s I really hope this made sence
