Suspected Seizure

Thu, 05/11/2006 - 17:13
Hello, I am in the process of finding out what happend to me last week. I went with my wife to pick our daughter up from school and I stayed in the car with our 8 month old while my wife went in the school. I was eating a chicken sandwich. Well when my wife and daughter came back, about five minutes later, I was barely breathing and non responsive. I was not convulsing. 911 was called and I was taken to the ER, I began coming around before the paramedics arrived and more so on the way. At the ER I was still having major problems remembering the event or several days prior, such as our baby being hospitalized and released. Now for about a year I have been having these strange episodes. Feeling as if i am flying "back" from my surroundings, feeling far away, stomach dropping and several other "small" feelings, such as deja vu. I am also prone to low blood sugar, but these "symptoms" do not realy sound like these episodes. Does this sound like I had a seizure? I had an EEG yesterday and we are still waiting on the results, probably tomorow. Thank you for reading and any possible feedback. If this turns out not to be a seizure I still thank you for your time. Be well and safe!

Hi Mystic... Best of luck .. You'll be ok. The most important thing is to educate yourself about epilepsy asap. Epilepsy.com is a great learning place and the info is accurate ty to the place being run by physicians. http://www.epilepsy.com/who/whois_ourpeople.html Also, search out an epileptologist (= a neurologist that specializes in the over 40 types of E) To find a specialist in your area check http://www.epilepsy.com/dr_redirect.html take care ~sol
