Quick advice needed - boyfriend might have epilepsy

Wed, 07/19/2017 - 11:20
I hope someone with experience in these fora can advice me on what to do. My 27 year old boyfriend recently had two "seizures" - the first one ten days ago, the second one this morning. They consist of severe twitching over his whole body, turning grey in the face, jumping up and looking scared at me, sweating and sore muscles - the first time also rolling eyes. It usually lasts around a minute and he has no memory of the "seizures" afterwards. I am using quotation marks as we are not sure yet whether he has actual epilepsy; we went to see the GP this morning and she torwarded him for a blood test and to see a neurologist. He has made an appointment next Tuesday. My big dilemma right now is that I am supposed to go on a two week trip abroad that has been planned for months. Right now I of course don't feel very much up to it. The GP said he will be safe sleeping alone so I guess I shouldn't worry...but of course I do. If I go I will not be able to be there when he sees the doctor or has scans made at the hospital. But the trip abroad is supposed to be amazing and as said has been planned for a long time. Has anyone been in a similar situation that could advice me on this? I don't know what the trajectory will be like...my boyfriend says I should go but I know I will be quite worried all the time...on the other hand I have been looking forward to this for a long time...

Thank you for your reply. He is an expat so his family lives abroad. My dad has agreed to go with him to the appointments while I am away, so that makes me feel a lot more at ease.

Thanks for your reply. My father has agreed to go to the neurologist with him while I'm away, that's a big help. I will write down for the doctors what I saw for sure.
