Possible epilepsy in 2year old daughter... worried momma

Fri, 11/04/2016 - 16:59
Hi everyone, My daughter has been having episodes where her eyes are fixed to the left for about a minute and she doesn't respond to us and won't turn to look at me or anything during that time. She seems to get very irritable and rubs her eyes before the episodes occur. Her pediatrician said it looks like seizure activity and could be epilepsy and diagnosed her for now, we have an eeg and appt with neurologist scheduled in 3 weeks. Does this sound familiar to any one else? What type of seizure do you think it sounds like, any info would be great I'm overwhelmed with all the reading I have beeen doing.

Your talking about the baby right? Each persons seizures are different in some aspect.  Not responding can lead a person to believe they are in seizures. If it is then she could be having absence seizures or even focal seizures. a lot of the people in them look like they are day dreaming..each persons seizure is different when you look at most of them then that is the main thing to see. Her irritability and rubbing her eyes could be a aura type thing especially if it is done before each seizure.Relax and be patient. Do keep track of the number of them she has every day because that information can be used by the neurologist to determine dosages of the medication she might need.
