Hi cath_y, I like you, had my VNS implanted in 2005. October to be exact. It has lessened my seizure activity some, but they still happen quite alot, I've NEVER been able to use the magnet in time. So that's a total waste. My throat gets dry and hoarse more so than not. Next up, Nov. 21 is right temporal lobectomy. I'm very nervous right now, but read- ing the success story of your surgery gives me all the confidence in the world and I really thank you for that !

Mike, I got sleep apnea from the VNS. It is turned off but I can turn it on when I need it with the magnet. It didnt help much with the seizures. I just use it now for my security blanket. I or my family can swipe it when I need to. Sorry to hear about your vocal cord problem. Hope things get better take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
