Dear My Epilepsy members, To all those who have been through serious memory problems, have gone through a significant recovery, and are interested in sharing information about our experiences, I would love to hear from you. I had profound memory problems for 17 years and then a very significant recovery in the last eight years. Jasmine K

Congrats on your recovery and I would love to talk to someone about their recovery. I haven't had a seizure for 3 years but I am lots of meds which I am not going off of since it stopped my seizures. However I have noticed memory loss and we, my epileptologist and I, did some neuro psych testing to see what parts of my brain have been effected. For about 5 years towards the end I was having 4-5 grand mals a week and this can cause damage to parts of the brain. Unfortunatly for me it caused damage to my memory center on the front temporal lobe, I think thats where it is. This has been very difficult since I am still in college. Anyway, now that you know my story, I was wondering how your memory improved over the years? Could you please email me at hoverton44@yahoo.com I would really apprieciate it. Thanks Heather "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." Maya Angelou
