I certainly know where you are comming from. We also can't drive here in Canada unless seizure free for a year. It has been almost 7 years since I drove and its a pain, I realy miss it and hate always depending on others, but that's life I guess. Never say never though. Although my doc told me partials are hardest to control we may eventualy find the right meds or I may try surgery. I hope things work out someday for you as well. Chin up, smiles and have a good day!

I too had this question, and last time I was at the Neuro he had a poster. I just found this site and it has info for all over. I am in Colorado and we don't have a waiting period. I checked (I guess I have nothing bettter to do) and out of the states/places listed only 10 had no required waiting period. http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/answerplace/Social/driving/statedrivinglaws.cfm

It has been 10 years for me in Florida, and my job required field work when I was diagnosed. It is a manatory one year here, but what happened to me was that my Neurologist did approve me to drive again after the year because it appeared that the seizures had stabilized. I bought a vehicle, but the seizures returned months later, and I had to sell it very cheap because now my Neuro realized that more intensive research was needed. Try to remember that there are many issues with Epilepsy even stress-related ones while driving etc. Now, my main transportation is a disabled friend who has become my "personal chauffeur" for cheaper trips than the taxi service. I was turned down 3 times by the government for tranportation services. I don't mind now because I watch other patients wait over 2 hours for that transportation, when my driver actually waits w/ me during appointments. Life4me
