Monthly seizures or sleep deprivation

Tue, 10/18/2016 - 11:34
Hi, I seem to have fallen into a pattern of having epileptic seizures while sleeping every 30 days or so. I know that women can be more prone to seizures at times of the month but is the same true for men please? Perhaps mild sleep deprivation could build up over the weeks to mimic the same thing?

Hi Andy84. For some people

Hi Andy84. For some people not getting enough sleep can certainly increase the likelihood of having a seizure. I believe it depends on the person and the location in the brain the seizures are start and affect. I started having seizures when I was 12; I'm 61 now. When I started having seizures not getting enough sleep we noticed an increase in seizures. I can't guarantee this applies to you. Find out from your doctor. Take care and hope you can get your seizures controlled.>>>>Robert
